Federal to Showcase Net Weight Filling Innovations at Pack Expo

XACT-FIL™ Monobloc – Net Weight Filler with Zalkin Lidding System
Explicitly designed to serve the paint and chemical market, Federal’s new High-Speed Gallon XACT-FIL™ Monobloc has an 18-station filler integrated with a 9-station lidder. This filler is an ideal setup for filling with plastic gallon cans and lids. It has a fill accuracy of ±0.5% and superior cleanability with an optional CIP system. The XACT-FIL™ Monobloc is configurable with screen packs for varying viscosity products by utilizing the toolless outer nozzle design. The customer can configure it with manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic lubrication systems. Also on display is an integrated float dose application system for the addition of anti-skinning top-dose before lidding. Quart and 5/6-gal pail versions are also available.
The Zalkin 9-station “Pick and Place” capping turret (PCD 600) is designed to apply plastic and metal lids to one-gallon plastic containers at speeds of 90+ containers per minute. Each chuck is controlled by a cam-actuated switch and is equipped with its own cut-off. The capping heads are fully adjustable for varying top load requirements. All bottle handling equipment is designed to assure maximum control and gentle handling of the containers. All bottle handling equipment is of quick-release design for toolless changeover and is color-coded to the individual bottle size to be run.
A primary advantage of this filler is the integration of fill, dose, and lidding in one compact footprint – eliminating the need for several belt conveyors, timing screws, etc. and ensuring a rejected can has a lid to prevent spills.
2-Station Inline Net Weight Filler
This standalone net weight filler is ideal for light to semi-viscous products. Thanks to the innovative servo-controlled linear actuator for bottom-up fill capabilities and two-stage fill nozzle technology, it tolerates foamy product very well. It has a fill accuracy of ±0.5% along with no bottle, no fill capabilities and near drip-less filling to avoid product waste. This filler utilizes our toolless outer nozzle design that is configurable with screen packs for varying viscosity products. The integrated product recipe system includes up to 100 recipes.
