Cincinnati, OH - ProMach, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Federal Manufacturing, a leading provider of rotary liquid filling packaging machinery based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Federal will join ProMach's Primary Packaging Business Unit, which provides primary and secondary packaging machinery solutions and consumables for many of the world’s most recognized food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and household goods companies.

Federal, founded in 1946, designs and manufactures high performance liquid filling and capping machinery for dairy, food, chemical, coatings, and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Federal’s history of innovation and strong focus on ensuring product quality and high sanitation standards have resulted in long-standing customer relationships and strong growth worldwide. Federal is an industry leader in developing solutions for dairy producers and manufacturers of Extended Shelf Life products.

“With the acquisition of Federal Manufacturing, ProMach is entering the liquid filler market in a significant way,” said Mark Anderson, ProMach President and CEO. “Federal has an excellent product line and talented people that complement our existing capabilities and customer base. We will continue to invest in Federal to grow their business and further develop their product and service capabilities. We have an outstanding opportunity to create synergies with our Fowler Products capping business and other ProMach brands. With the addition of Federal solutions to our extensive portfolio, we continue to strengthen our position as a world leader in packaging machinery, integrated solutions, and customer service.”

Federal’s leadership team, including Frank Johanek and Otis Cobb will remain with ProMach. Mr. Johanek joins ProMach as General Manager for the Federal brand. Mr. Cobb joins ProMach as Federal Vice President of Sales.

“ProMach and Federal share a common tradition for customer service and product excellence,” said Don Cotney, ProMach’s Vice-President and General Manager for Fowler Products. “We are enthusiastic about the benefits our combined product portfolio provides both Fowler and Federal customers, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with their team on new solutions and services.”

“This is a win-win for our customers and team,” said Mr. Johanek. “ProMach has a strong reputation for investing in its brands - many of which are more than 50 years old - and creating product synergies that benefit its customers. This will help ensure the continued growth of the Federal brand, while also introducing ProMach to new markets and customers.”

“This is an outstanding opportunity for customers of both businesses to achieve greater value from their packaging investments,” added Mr. Cobb. “Together we are a single source for a wide range of high quality, complementary solutions, and integrated products across the entire packaging line. That’s a significant advantage for our customers.”
