Federal Increases CIP Capabilities on Level Fillers

Federal's next generation of level filling machines continues to strengthen its filling, capping, and other ancillary equipment to better suit its customers. Federal’s additional standard features include updated guarding with enhanced safety features, expanded capping capabilities and custom value designs specifically for the product. Federal's new generation of level fillers has a new Fixed Trough System that is now standard for all Federal level fillers.
New Federal Fixed Trough
In order to Clean in Place (CIP) or change over a product on legacy level fillers, the operator would manually lower the bowl to open the valves, allowing the liquid to run onto the base of the filler. This could cause damage due to high product temperatures or create an unsanitary filling environment. Some
customers use CIP rings to clean the bowl and valves. The rings prevent damage to the base and keep the filling environment clean, but they take lots of precious time to hook up and run properly. The new Fixed Trough design saves time, maintains a sanitary filling environment and prevents damage to the filler by keeping the product and cleaning solution contained in the trough area.
New Federal level fillers now have a standard Fixed Trough that allows for product or CIP solution to be collected with a touch of a button. All controls for the Fixed Trough System are located on the HMI, saving the customer time. Once the system is initiated, the secondary cam activates and opens the valves. This allows the opened valves to evacuate only over the fixed trough while removing all the product and/or CIP solution out of the bowl. This new Fixed Trough will keep the filling environment clean and clear of any damage to the base while saving time.
